The poem below was submitted by a participating male carer, beginning to dabble in poetry. The aim of this study was to share some of his experience caring for a loved one.

Trapped by smiles
I serve
With pleasure
A forever girl
Who frees my careful
Aged brain
Through giddy moments
And the joy of now
Yet I also serve
With pain
The daily grind of
Medicine and food
The structuring of my time
Sidelined as a man
By womanly matters
With strain
I pay the price
Of love
But with blessings
From above
