We are slowly becoming such friendly anti-social people!
In light of the recent measures being taken due to Covid-19, the fieldwork for the study was suspended in March for safety of everyone involved. Firstly, to anyone who has been waiting to hear from me during this last month, I would like to thank you for your patience in allowing me to ensure that I could continue the study safely without putting anyone at risk. After considering the length of time these restrictions are due to continue for, I have decided to change the way the study is conducted so that we may continue learning about the male carer experience.
The current changes affecting your involvement in the study are regarding the method being used. Prior to lock down, the study was using photo-elicitation with semi-structured interviews (see the methods page for a more detailed explanation) to collect your accounts. From now until further notice, this method will still be used, however you will need to exercise social distancing as directed by the government when taking photographs. Further, the interviews will be conducted virtually, by video call.
Before the lock down was put into place, we had been in the process of getting you involved in the study. If you would still like to be involved, please get in touch. If not, please let me know and I will remove you from my mailing list. If you are unable to take part at the moment, but are still interested in being involved please let me know, and we may be able to arrange your interview once restrictions are lifted.
Stay safe, stay home, stay friendly!
